Mabel F. Alexander age 67 of McKee Road in Berea, passed away Tuesday morning at the Rockcastle County Hospital.

Mabel was owner and manager of a grocery store business the she and her husband Willard ran for 28 years. She was also a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband for 48 years Willard Alexander; her children Sandy (Danny) Whittemore, Bill (Frankie) Alexander, Tina (Lonnie) Abney, Willard Alexander Jr., Pennie (Tim) Centers all of Berea; 10 grandchildren.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents Odies and Virgil Jones Center; one brother Winfred “Red” Centers and one sister Christine Seals.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Lighthouse Baptist Chuch with Rev. Roy Himes and Bro. Russell Himes officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilot Knob Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m. at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea and again on Thursday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church.

Pallbearers will be Scott Alexander, Stephen Alexander, Kevin Alexander, Jason Abney, Blake Abney and Ryan Centers. Honorary pallbearers will be Angie Clark, Melinda Carter, Samantha Alexander and Lindsey Centers.
