ADKINSON, Lee
Mr. Lee Adkinson, 73, and Mrs. Garnett Gayle Adkinson, 52, of 257 Providence Road, died Thursday, March 20, 1997. (See related story, Page 1-A)
Mr. Lee Olan Adkinson was born July 19, 1923 in Mercer County, the son of the late Orville Lee and Mamie Catlett Adkinson/ He was a retired Kentucky State Policeman, having served from 1947 to 1966, and a member of the Cornishville Christian Church. He had served as police chief of Harrodsburg for a short period and was a motor vehicle inspector for the Kentucky Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1974. He was a navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: two sons, David Myron (Kandie) Adkinson, Midway and Ronald Lee (Cathy) Adkinson, Wright City, MO; two step daughters, Mrs. Bobby (Lisa) Robinson and Lynn Sluder, both of Madison County; four grandchildren, four step grandchildren, two great grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd Melwood Adkinson, Biloxi, MS. |
