Mr. Lee Adkinson, 73, and Mrs. Garnett Gayle Adkinson, 52, of 257 Providence Road, died Thursday, March 20, 1997. (See related story, Page 1-A)
Mrs. Garnett Gayle Adkinson, 52, was
born May 18, 1944 in Madison County, the daughter of the late Charles Garnett
Edwards and Elsa Crowe Edwards. She was a bus driver for the Mercer
County schools and a member of College Hill Methodist Church. She was a former
employee of Shakertown at Pleasant Hill. Survivors include: two daughters,
Mrs. Bobby (Lisa) Robinson and Lynn Sluder, both of Madison County; two step
sons, Ronald Lee (Cathy) Adkinson, Wright city, MO and David (Kandie) Adkinson,
Midway; one sister, Betty (Donald) Turpin, Ocala, FL; four grandchildren, four
step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. Joint services for Mr. and Mrs.
Adkinson were held Monday, March 24 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bro.
Leonard Price officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery with military
rites for Mr. Adkinson. Pallbearers for Mr. Adkinson were
members of the Kentucky State Police and members of the Harrodsburg Police
Department. Pallbearers for Mrs. Adkinson were Carter Crowe, Kenneth Barger, Kenny Barger, John Allen Reed, David Noland and David Stagner. Honorary bearers were Mercer County school bus drivers. |
