Gale Will of Jacob Myers Lincoln County, Kentucky Will and Administration Records Volume I Lincoln County, Kentucky Will Records Book B OSPage: 237 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Signed and Sealed by Jacob Myers 1 October 1798 or 1799 (the last number has a line through it and was changed 9 to 8 or 8 to 9) Proved 8 November 1802 by Clerk of Lincoln Co. KY Court In the name of God Amen. I Jacob Myers of the county of Lincoln being in good health and sound and di ??? memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament (to wit) it is my will and desire that all my just debts should be paid out of my estate by my executors herein after named and the residue thereof I dispose of in the following manner - first I desire that so much of my land to be sold near Bulletts Lick as will purchase two good negroe men for Lewis Myers. They are to be his property he abligeing himself to give my brother Christian a descent maintainace during life. Also my four Islands above the mouth of Green River and then to have an equal share with all the rest of all my Brothers Children as I shall hereafter mention after all my just debts are paid All my lands are to be equally divided among all my Brothers Children Valentine, Peter and Jost Myers all their children to have equal shares only Jost Myers daughter, Rebeckie is to have nothing out of my estate if she marries Burket Hughes. Otherways to have equal shares with the rest of my Brothers Children. It is understood that if Lewis Myers shall fail maintaining said Christian in a desent manner, the negroes are to hired out for said Christians care. After his death to be the property of said Lewis. I impower Lewis Myers, James Thompson both of Lincoln County State of Kentucky and David Shriever son of David Shriever of Frederick County Maryland my executors to this my last will and testament. And do Impower my said executors to execute proper deeds of conveyance to several persons for whom I have cleared out lands and the others who can produce a just claim to any land that may be surveyed and patented in my name and also those to whom I have given my obligation for the conveyance of any particular tracts of land the several tracts of land and other legat? herein before bequeaths are given to the several legtees and their heirs forever. In witness whereof I have hereunto let my hand and seal this first day of October 1799.
