"Genealogical Uses of Google Earth"
presented by
Phil Hysell

Attendees will be shown how the free computer program Google Earth can be utilized in your genealogical research to help 'flesh out' your ancestors' lives. Phil will demonstrate how one can use the program to learn about ancestors' lands, their migrations, neighbors, burial locations and, possibly, any traces they might have left behind them decades ago. You will also be shown how to 'visit' these areas to see how they appear today and go back in time with wonderful old maps to help you put things in a truer perspective.

Phil Hysell is a WV native and a graduate of Marshall University in Huntington, WV. He earned a B.S. Degree in chemistry and did graduate work at the University of Louisville. Phil was a laboratory manager for Celanese Corporation in Louisville and for Rhodia in Cranbury, NJ. He is editor of the Hisle-Hysell Genealogy newsletter, a member of the SAR and a past president of the Louisville Genealogical Society and has published in various literary, genealogical and scientific journals.
