At a court held for Leslie County at the County seat thereof in the town of Hyden on the 17 day of May 1886 the Honorable A.L. Begley presiding Judge

This day Aaron Roark produced a Commission to the court from the Secretary of State as Magistrate of the 3rd district of Leslie County, entered into bond together with Israel Howard and J.C. Dixon as sureties and taken the oath as required by law

On motion of G.W. Blevins, it is ordered by the Court that there be a view of road beginning at the Mouth of Coon Creek thence down Cutshin Creek to A.L. Vanover’s and that Elison Wooton, William Blevins and Levi Pennington be appointed viewers to view said road and as the law directs and report same at the next Term of the Court

On motion of Elison Wooton, it is ordered by the court that there be a view of road from beginning at the *? End of James Brewer’s farm thence down to Cutshin to the mouth of McIntosh’s Creek and that G.W. Blevens, William Blevins and John Stidham be appointed viewers to review same as the law directs and report same at the next Term of the Court

On motion of E Z Napier by petition 
It is ordered by the court that there be a portion of voting district of Leslie County Number 1 attached to district number 2 as follows: beginning at John Couch’s old house thence down Bull Creek to the mouth of the Short Branch thence up the lower side of the same Short Branch so as to include James Hoskins to the Ned Begley place on Hell for Certain Creek so as to include E Z Napier thence to the divide between Hell for Certain Creek and Bull Creek thence with said divide to the line of district number 2, all the persons living in said boundary shall have and claim district number 2 as their voting

At a Court held for Leslie County at the County seat thereof in the town of Hyden on the 26 day of July 1886 the Honorable A.L. Begley, Judge presiding 

It is ordered by the Court that the order appointing Joshua Mosley surveyor of the Beech Fork Road in and the same is here by set aside and that he returns his copy of same to the court which is received by the court and he is not surveyor of said Road any longer

On motion of Thomas Roberts ordered by the Court that Joseph Maggard be and is hereby appointed Administrator of the Estate of Rodrick McIntosh deceased, with the will amended which approved in open court and entered into bond with J.M. Bailey, Thomas Roberts and L.G. Baker as his sureties as such and taken the oath as required by law

On motion of John M. Bailey it is ordered by the court that said Bailey be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate two hundred acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of two and one half cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

      ORDERS}                              LESLIE COUNTY COURT

August    Term,                1                         Day, August 17, 1886

Court met per order to adjournment on yesterday evening same judge present

This day G.A. Begley came into Court and produced a certificate of Election for the office of Jailer of Leslie County and offered to fill bond for same and the Court decided that he had the right by the law to fill said bond and entered a motion to the *? and the filing of said G.A. Begley as Jailer aforesaid bond being filled but said motion was over ruled by the Court for which ruling said E.Y. Begley objected and excepted and said Begley proceeded to fill said bond with James S. Bowlin, Zach Morgan, and A.B. Morgan as sureties which bond was approved by the court and said G.A. Begley took the oath required by law

This day Daniel Lewis produced a certificate from Dr. G.B. Ma*? Selling forth his physical position and disease as to his being an unable bodied man and as to performing manual labor
It is therefore ordered by the court that said Daniel Lewis be relieved from working on any public road and building in Leslie County

August    Term,                1                         Day, August 17, 1886

Ordered that E.Y. Begley be allowed out of the road and bridge funds of Leslie County for looks for Court House and for building a *? To the jail                                  $4.30

On motion of Daniel Lewis surveyor of Leslie County, it is ordered by the Court that the principal surveyor and his deputies to wit: James Helton, J.C. Brewer, Hiram Farmer, J.C. Chapell and J. Mattingly deliver their records or their reports of that or records as the case may be to the County Court Clerk’s office of Leslie County on or about the first Monday of September 1886 and that a legal notice issued to each one of the surveyor and each of the above named deputies and the Sheriff or the Peace Officer is required to serve notice on each of the above named and due notice of said notice on or by the 1st Monday of September 1886

Ordered that the order appointing Elihu Kilborn Surveyor of road on yesterday on Poll’s Creek be set aside and that J.B. Williams be appointed in his stead with same hands and same restrictions as Elihu Kilborn’s order

Ordered by the Court that Susan Begley be notified to appear in the Leslie County Court at the September Term 1886 and supply a Deficiency in her bond as Administrator of the Estate of Samuel L. Begley deceased

At a Court held for Leslie County at the County seat thereof in the town of Hyden on the 20th day of February 1888, present Honorable F.M. Morgan presiding

It is ordered by the court that Elijah B. North be and he is hereby appointed surveyor of the Beech Fork Road beginning at a water oak tree be *? Jerry Ledington and ending at the mouth of the Big Branch and that he be allowed the following named hands viz: Beech and its waters from said water oak tree to the mouth of Big Branch and Big Branch and its waters to dig 10 feet and clean 15 feet and 14 feet over head

On motion of E.C. Howard, Justice of the Peace, it is ordered by the court that said Howard is and he hereby permitted to solemnize the rights of Matrimony in Leslie County and entered into bond together with Felix Eastridge as surety which bond was approved by the court

On motion of Levi Boggs it is ordered by the Court that said Boggs he is hereby authorized to appropriate one hundred acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law
 

  On motion of John Griffitts it is ordered by the Court that said Griffitts he is hereby authorized to appropriate eighty acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

It is ordered by the Court that there be a view of road beginning at the foot of Buffalo Hill on *? Creek thence up the road fork of said creek by way of Jack Howard’s and the Gladys Branch of Gilbert’s Creek

At a special court held for Leslie County at the County seat thereof in the town of Hyden on the 31st day of August 1888, present Honorable F.M. Morgan presiding

On motion of Nancy Sisemore it is ordered by the court that said Sisemore be and she is hereby authorized to appropriate one hundred acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County she having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

      ORDERS}                              LESLIE COUNTY COURT

May    Term,                1                        Day, May 16, 1889

On Big Creek and that he be allowed the following named hands named herewith viz: all the hands on the right hand fork of the Bull Creek and the Hollens Fork of Bull Creek down to Jesse Spurlock’s including said Spurlock’s home and including the James Griffith farm on Hell for Certain to dig 10 feet *? 15 feet and 14 feet over head to keep said road in repairs as the law directs

On this day Samuel Young produced in Court a certificate of Election as Marshal of the town of Hyden, Leslie County, Kentucky and moved the Court to present him to verify as such which being granted said Samuel Young the oath of office prescribed by law by the Constitution and laws and together with A.B. Eversole and G.A. Begley sureties entered into and acknowledged bond to the Commonwealth of Kentucky conditioned according to law which is approved by the court

At a court held for Leslie County at the Court House hereof in the town of Hyden on the 18th day of November 1889, present Honorable F.M. Morgan presiding

On motion of Abijah Woods it is ordered by the court that said Woods be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate fifty acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law
 

On motion of Rainey Napier it is ordered by the court that said Napier be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate fifty acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law
 

It is ordered by the court that the precinct of Road beginning at the Mouth of Hunts Creek on Middle Fork and ending at the Mouth of the Poundmill Branch on Cutshin be divided at the James Lewis cliff on Hurricane and be made two road precincts

It is ordered by the court that John E. Howard be and he is hereby appointed surveyor on the Hunts Creek Road beginning one mile from the Court House on Hunts Creek and ending at the James Lewis Cliff on Hurricane and that he be allotted the following named hands viz: all the Road hands on Hunts Creek and its waters to open the same 15 feet wide and dig with salad level *? And clear the limbs and over hanging substance 14 feet high the entire width of the road on to work on new review at the bank at Henry *? To keep said road in repairs as the law directs
 
 
 

      ORDERS}                              LESLIE COUNTY COURT

February Term,               19                        Day of February 1890

Out of the following described boundary’s to wit: beginning at the lower end of W.D. Wooton’s farm on Cutshin thence up the South Mountain to the top of the ridge between the Middle Fork and Cutshin thence up the divide between said Middle Fork and Cutshin to the mouth of Coon Creek thence up Coon Creek including Coon Creek and its waters to the upper end of James H. Cornett’s farm thence a strait line to the mouth of Poll’s Creek thence with the dividing between Poll’s Creek and Wooton’s Creek to the head of M*? Creek to the Perry County line thence with said Perry County line to the top of the ridge between the Middle Fork and Grassy Branch thence with the divide between said Middle Fork and Grassy Branch as it meanders to the head of the right hand fork of Russell Feltner’s Branch thence with the divide between said branch and Cutshin to the beginning. It is therefore ordered by the court that said Justice’s districts and voting precinct be made and established according to the above boundary and that the voting place to be at the School House near the Mouth of Wooton’s Creek on Cutshin, the district shall be No. 7

It is ordered by the Court that William Jones son of William be and he hereby attached to the B*? Fork Road and that he work under James Estep Road order and that he be relieved from working on the Thousand Stick Road

This day Russell Jones returned his road order to the court and reported that he had removed from said road and same was received by the court

It is ordered by the court that James Griffitts be and he is hereby appointed surveyor of the Bull Creek Road beginning at the Mouth of Bull Creek and ending at the Persimmon Tree above John Keen’s and that he be allotted the following named hands viz: Bull Creek and its waters from the mouth to the mouth of the Short Branch to open same 13 feet wide, dig with salad level *? And clean the limbs etc. 14 feet high the entire width of the road to keep said road in repairs as the law directs

At a court held for Leslie County at the County seat thereof in the town of Hyden on the 13th day of May 1890, present Honorable F.M. Morgan Judge presiding 

On motion of Waid Valentine it is ordered by the court that said Valentine be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate twenty five acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

On motion of William H. Wooton it is ordered by the court that said Wooton be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate fifty acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

On motion of Abner Melton it is ordered by the court that said Melton be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate fifty acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

On motion of John B. Eversole it is ordered by the court that said Eversole be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate fifty acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

On motion of John B. Feltner it is ordered by the court that said Feltner be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate two hundred  acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

On motion of Jackson Begley it is ordered by the court that said Begley be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate one hundred  acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

On motion of The Begley it is ordered by the court that said Begley be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate one hundred  acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

On motion of Pharis Begley it is ordered by the court that said Begley be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate one hundred  acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

On motion of John Campbell it is ordered by the court that said Campbell be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate one hundred  acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

On motion of Terry H. Melton it is ordered by the court that said Melton be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate (50) fifty  acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

On motion of Madison Messer it is ordered by the court that said Messer is and he is hereby authorized to appropriate *? acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

On motion of L.G. Baker and J.M. Baker it is ordered by the court that said L.G. Baker and J.M. Baker be and they are hereby authorized to appropriate seventy five acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

On motion of James Griffitts it is ordered by the court that said Griffitts be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate twenty five acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

On motion of George Wells it is ordered by the court that said Wells be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate twenty five acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

It is ordered by the court that Abraham Couch, Thomas Johnson and Frank Gibson be and they are hereby relieved from working on James Ausburn’s Road and that they be attached to the Collin’s Fork Road and work under Freelin Collins order
 

It is ordered by the court that James Maggard be and he is hereby appointed surveyor of the Hyden Road beginning the Court House and ending one mile from the Court House in all directions that any road runs *? The Big Branch Road and that he be allotted the following named hands viz: all the road hands living within one mile of the Court House except the Owl’s Nest to open the same 15 feet wide and dig with Salad Level *? And clear the limbs etc. 14 feet high the entire width of the road, to keep said road in repairs as the law directs

On motion of Isaac France it is ordered by the court that said France be and he is hereby authorized to appropriate fifty acres of the vacant and unappropriated land of Leslie County he having paid the County price of five cents per acre therefore by having same entered and surveyed as required by law

It appears to the satisfaction of the court that Pierce Taylor is an unable bodied man; it is therefore ordered by the court that he be and he is hereby relieved from working on roads in Leslie County for disability

On motion of William Lewis, Sheriff of Leslie County it is ordered by the court that R.F. Daniel, Daniel McDaniel, William Pace, James Griffitts and James Napier be and they are hereby appointed Deputy Sheriff’s of Leslie County and they taken the oaths as required by law

On the 19th day of January 1891, on motion of Vinia Morgan who made oath and executed and approved covenant to the Commonwealth of Kentucky with Hughes Morgan and A.L. Begely sureties, Letters of Administration on the Estate of Zach Morgan deceased  are hereby granted unto the said Vinia Morgan

It is ordered by the Court that John G. Morgan, Carlo Hoskins and Calaway Hoskins or any two of them who being first duly sworn do appraise the personal estate of Zach Morgan deceased and they will return their appraisement to this court within three months from this date hereof, also a list of articles and value of each set apart for the widow separately from the articles appraised for sale

Then pending in the Leslie County Court, for the partition of the real estate of Samuel Begley deceased, an order was entered at the August Term, 1896 directing E.Y. Begley, William Sizemore and Jackson Sizemore allotment of the said real estate between the parties to said action, and the said court to make division and dance with said order, and said Commissioners having made their report of the division at the January Term, 1897, of the said Court, their said report was then by a further order of said court approved and confirmed, and on the 15th day of February 1897, the said court appointed the undersigned Clark Eversole a Special Commissioner to make deeds of partition, conveying to each party the lands and property allotted to them in severally.
 Now, therefore, this indenture made and entered into this 3rd day of March, 1897, between Susan Eversole, Alice Begley, George Begley, Lucinda Napier, Lilly Begley, Martha Begley, Mary Begley, John Begley, Carria Napier, Emer Begley and Hiram Begley by Clark Eversole Commissioner aforesaid of the first part, and John Begley of the second part.
 Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the premises, and in obedience to said order, the parties of the first part, by Clark Eversole Commissioner aforesaid, have sold, and do hereby convey to said party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever, the Lot No. 7 which is two boundaries described as follows, viz: one boundary on Saylor’s Branch and embraced in a deed from William Sizemore and Blev Asher to Samuel Begley beginning on the south side of said Branch to and apple tree at the end of the point of the ridge, same is a 3rd corner to a lot no. 6 thence up the point as it meanders
And with the lines of lot no.6 S611/2 E38 poles to a beech, S371/2 E10 poles to a beech S631/2 E28 poles to twin chestnut oaks on top of a large rock S 501/2 E18 poles to a crooked chestnut S341/2 E8 poles 28 limbs to a white oak and small maple S41 E20 poles to a black gum and chestnut on top of a high knob thence with top of ridge S68 poles to a black gum S661/2 W23 poles to a chestnut S13 W9 poles to a black gum S671/2 671/2 W 20 poles to a black gum chestnut and maple on top of the hill, this line runs to top of ridge N25 W13 poles to a beech and small flat rock about 20 feet from branch on South bank of same just below where said Saylor’s lives and running over 2 large rocks thence down said Branch as it meanders N26 E10 poles N2 E8 poles N9 W100 poles N111/2 W8 poles to a beech to next bank of said branch thence down said branch as it meanders and with lines of lot No. 8 N34 E4 poles , N71/2 W16 Poles, N24 W22 poles 18 limbs running with said branch N24 W20 poles to beginning, 2nd boundary is embraced in a 50 acre patent on Ellison Branch beginning at 4 corner of said survey at a sugar tree on W side of said branch about 20 poles from same thence with 4 line of same N20 W60 poles to 5 *? Thence with first line N60 W86 poles to a beech thence S36 E133 poles to a stake in 6 line of said survey on South bank of Cain Hollow thence N71 E22 poles to the beginning
 To have and to hold the same with the appurtenances, unto the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever, and the said parties of the first part, by the Commissioner aforesaid, hereby covenant with the party of the second part, that they will warrant and defend the title of the land and premises hereby conveyed against the claims of the parties of the first part.

Ordered that Green Couch be and he is hereby appointed overseer of the Middle Fork Road in road precinct No. to work from the mouth of Bull Creek to the Juda Ford and all the male laboring hands over 18 and under 50 years of age and not exempt by law including the following boundary viz: Middle Fork and its waters from the mouth of Bull Creek to the Juda Ford except Rainey Asher and? Branch including Allen Muncy, do direct the said surveyor in keeping said road in good repairs as the law directs

On the 4th day of December 1909, on motion of John Griffitts who made oath and executed and approved covenant to the Commonwealth of Kentucky with A.B. Eversole and G.A. Sizemore sureties, Letters of administration on the estate of John Griffitts deceased intestate are hereby granted unto the said John Griffitts Jr.
