In the name of God Amen.
I, Samuel St. John being weak in body but of sound mind & memory, & knowing the uncertainty of life & certainty of death do make and constitute the following my last will and testament.

I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Frances 73 acres of land lying on the South end of the trail on which I now reside, being seventy three poles with and adjoining the land of George Green, to be hers forever to dispose of as she may see proper.

I give the balance of my land including the plantation, to my son Charles when he arrives at the age of  21 years, but it is my will that my wife Frances  shall have the management & use of the plantation until that time, for her & my son Charles support. The balance of my estate after  the payments of my just debts to be equally divided between them as the above names said.

I appoint my wife Frances, Thomas Robinson & Joshua W. Lace, Guardians of my son Charles with power to dispose of the plantation in any way they may see proper for the mutual advantage of the before mentioned parties until the said Charles is 21 years of age.

I appoint Thomas Robinson & John W. Lace my executors to carry the foregoing will into completion?

       I,  Lott Pitman,  Clerk of the County Court, aforesaid do certify the foregoing will of Samuel St. John was produced before the said Court at the Court August Term, Proven and ordered to be recorded which is done accordingly given under my hand the 15th day of August 1828
