Cornelia Johnson Sayers Mrs. Watson Sayers, one of Covington's most prominent women and active religious workers, died at her home, 737 Scott Street, Saturday night, after a lingering illness. She leaves a husband and three sisters, Mrs. Susan Sullivan and Mrs. Cornelia Johnson of Monroe City, MO., and Miss Anna Johnson, of this city, and two brothers, one living in California and one in Missouri. For years, Mrs. Sayers was an active worker in the Scott St. M. E. Church. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 o'clock from the residence. Interment in Highland Cemetery. Watson Sayers, which took place this morning at the Sayers residence on Scott St., Covington. Rev. J. R. Savage, pastor of Scott St. Methodist Church, of which Mrs. Sayers was for years an active member, conducted the service. Dr. Sullivan, Mrs. Sidnor Hall and Miss Caroline Hall rendered several beautiful musical selections. Messrs. Lowes, Hollingsworth, Tarvin and Redmond bore the remains to their last resting place in Highland Cemetery.
