After attending a meeting of Christian Churches in Cincinnati, Ezra Fish donated the land on April 12, 1849 for the Goshen Christian Church and School. The original building was a log structure that sat in what is now the cemetery. Early members of the church included John Ellis, Z.W. Stephenson, James Winn, Stephen Rich, Rueben Wilson, Arch Connelly and S.L. Dixon to name a few. At least some of these men and their families were buried in the adjoining cemetery as their stones are still readable. The current building was built sometime around 1870 with additions and remodeling having gone on since that time. Upstairs some of the original logs are still visible. No longer used as a school, the little church has been home to its rural congregation for over 150 years. There are no surviving records of early members or burials but a listing and photo for each visible stone in the cemetery can be found here.
