Victim Of Heart Attack W. I. McCloud Dies Suddenly May 31st is how the headlines read.

    The victim of a heart attack, W. I. McCloud died suddenly on the morning of May 31, 1945. He was 69 years of age at the time of his death. Funeral services were held Sunday morning at the home of Norman Horn on Jennies Creek, and burial was made in the Conley cemetery by the Jones Funeral Home.

    Mr. McCloud was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George McCloud and was born in Paintsville where he spent his entire life. He was a farmer for a number of years and had been employed by the North East Coal Company as a miner for more than fifteen years before his retirement when aged sixty-five. He was a Spanish American War Veteran and had seen action in the Philippines in that war.

     Mr. McCloud was married twice. His first marriage was to Miss Hallie Conley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Conley, both deceased. She passed away twenty-one years ago and he was later married to Mrs. Nettie Dills who survives. Also surviving are six children by his first marriage; Herschell, Collista; Beecher, Stambaugh; Charles, city; Mrs. Norman Horn, city, Mrs. Paris Kimbler, city, and Mrs. James Castle, Auxier, two brothers, Alphonzo McCloud, West Van Lear, and Joe McCloud of Pineville; three sisters, Emily Wells, Washington, D. C.; Bessie Redford, Fairfield O., and Lizzie Conley, city; and a half-brother, Luther McCloud of Martin.
