(The above
footstones are said to be the children of the McClures, but no
confirmation of that)
* The Herr
and Rudy families were prominent landowners in Louisville,
Kentucky in the 1700s-1800s. The home of George Herr and his
wife, Sarah “Sallie” Simcoe Herr, was located at what was then
612 Rudy Lane. With the development of new streets on the old
Herr-Rudy lands, the address of the house has changed to 6212
Two Springs Lane, but it is still listed on the National
Register of Historic Places as 612 Rudy Lane. The cemetery is
located on the property.
(I was not
able to visit this cemetery. I wrote a letter to the owners of
the home for permission to visit the cemetery, but they did not
reply).
