Herr Cemetery 2

This work is the effort of Alan Murray.   He already has a website online dedicated to cemeteries in Jefferson County and has gracefully offered his transcriptions for use here on our KyGenWeb site.   Please email your coordinators  or Alan Murray if you have any questions regarding this cemetery.

Located in eastern Jefferson County. * Location: 6212 Two Springs Lane

Herr, George   06 Jul 1802 - 10 Oct 1875

Herr, Sarah, wife of George   28 Jan 1808 - 03 May 1873

Herr, Lewis Taylor  27 Apr 1844 - 26 Dec 1889

2 footstones - J. L. McC &  E. McC

(The above footstones are said to be the children of the McClures, but no confirmation of that)

* The Herr and Rudy families were prominent landowners in Louisville, Kentucky in the 1700s-1800s. The home of George Herr and his wife, Sarah “Sallie” Simcoe Herr, was located at what was then 612 Rudy Lane. With the development of new streets on the old Herr-Rudy lands, the address of the house has changed to 6212 Two Springs Lane, but it is still listed on the National Register of Historic Places as 612 Rudy Lane. The cemetery is located on the property.

(I was not able to visit this cemetery. I wrote a letter to the owners of the home for permission to visit the cemetery, but they did not reply).
