SELLERS was born in Woodford County November 11, 1814, and is the second son of Thomas W. and Sarah R. (Ashford) Sellers. His father was born in Mercer County, Ky., in Harrod's Station, April 7, 1788; was a farmer all his life and died in Woodford County May 10, 1869. John Sellers, grandfather of Henry M., was born in Pennsylvania and died in Kentucky January 5, 1812. Thomas W. Sellers was in the war of 1812, was also justice of the peace twenty-five years and sheriff eight years in Woodford County and also county judge one term. Henry M. Sellers was reared in Woodford County and is a carpenter by trade. In 1847 he moved to Covington, Ky., and worked at his trade until 1851, then moved back to Woodford County; owns 252 acres of land, and has been engaged in farming and stock raising ever since. July 25, 1836, he married Harrietta Stevenson, of Woodford County, daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth (West) Stevenson. Two children blessed this union, but both are dead. Mrs. Sellers died October 27, 1838, a member of the Methodist CHurch. October, 8, 1840, Mr. Sellers married Alethea N. Rowland, of Woodford County. One child has been born to this union, Marion W., married to O. Kennard. The second Mrs. Sellers died May 29, 1875, a member of the Methodist Church, of which church Mr. Sellers is also a member.
