THE EDWARDS FAMILY
   Ambrose Edwards, the son of an English clergyman, settled in King William
Co., Va., about 1740 and died in 1811.  He married Wealthean Butler.  They
had nine children:  Susannah married James Quarles and moved to Ky.
(Woodford Co); Nancy married Micajah Vaiden; Mary married George Butler
Pollard; Wealthen married Thomas Pemberton; and Butler married Elizabeth
Ellett.  Among the descendants are Walers, Thorntons, Hills, Merediths,
Lynes, Terrys, Carrs, Kings, Croxtons, Warburtons, Neales, Robins, Gregory,
Slaughter and many other well-known Virginia families.
