ALFRED GRAYSON, farmer, was born February 5, 1822, in the territory of Arkansas, being the fourth child of eleven born to Benjamin and Nancy (Rigney) Grayson. When subject was four years of age his parents returned to Tennessee, having formerly lived there, afterward removing to this State and settling in this county. Mr. Grayson received an ordinary education, and remained at home till he was of age. September 22, 1842, he married Rosanna Hopkins, a native of Wayne County, Ky., who came with her parents to this State in 1829. The occupation of Mr. Grayson has always been farming, and he has accumulated a fine property, owning 440 acres and raising considerable cattle. He is a member of the Masonic fraternity at Bedford, Lodge No. 345. He is a Republican, and takes an active interest in all laudable enterprises.
