Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 3rd ed., 1886. Warren County. J. E. WILSFORD, Warren County, was born in Giles County, Tenn., and is a son of William Wilsford, a native of Virginia, who came to Kentucky with his father, in early youth, and located in Barren County. He remained there but a few years, and then immigrated to Tennessee, where he still lives. J. E. Wilsford came to Kentucky from Tennessee in 1863, and settled on the place where he now resides, which consists of 225 acres of excellent land, well improved. He was married, in 1859, to Elizabeth, daughter of Samuel Murrell, of this county. This union was blessed with eight children, four of whom are now living. Their names are S. M., Joseph C., Lena B., Myrtle M., Edwin, Charles H., and two infants who died unnamed. Mrs. Wilsford died in 1878; she was a good and pious woman, and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Wilsford is also a member of the same church, as are also all of the children who have arrived at maturity.
