             However, the first line indicates that he is of Logan County.

THOMAS J. SHANNON, Logan County, was born December 18, 1801, and is a 
son of John and Margaret (Marrs) Shannon, the former a native of 
Virginia, and immigrated to this State in 1787, and to this neiborhood 
in 1810.  Thomas J. lived here for sixty-two years, then abandoned the 
Shakers and moved to Auburn, where he lived nine years, and inthe 
meantime married a daughter of Benjamin Woodward.  He was a trader and 
farmer and held public office.  He returned here in 1881, and again 
united with the Shakers.  He has always been an active man, and has held 
many offices of responsibility in the society.
