McFARLAN, Warren County, was born in Cadiz, Trigg County, Ky., in November, 1828, and is a son of Thomas and Martha (Pulliam) McFarlan, of English origin. They were natives of this State; the father held the office of sheriff for several years, and died in 1837. Subject lived with his mother until grown, when he married Martha E., daughter of James Atwood, of Allen County, Ky. By this marriage he had two children: William O. and Charles W. His wife died in 1854, and he afterward married Mrs. Atward, the daughter of J. J. Cockerill, of Allen County. Seven children are the result of this marriage: Cornelia, Biddie (deceased), Fannie (deceased), Thomas, Anna L., H. C. and James R. Mr. McFarlan and his wife are members of the Baptist Church.
