JOHN H. McELWAIN, Warren County, as born in 1835, and is a native of this
county.  He is a son of Alexander and Malinda (Feland) McElwain, of Irish
descent.  He is a bachelor, and has thus far disregarded the Scriptural
injunction, to go out and "multiply and fill the earth."  He lives with
his brother on the farm, in which he owns an interest.  He was reared on
the farm, and educated in the schools of the neighborhood.  Politically
Mr. McElwain is a Democrat of the Jeffersonial school.
