Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 3rd ed., 1886. Warren County. SANDY A. GOSSOM was born July 27, 1809, in Warren County, Ky. He was a farmer by occupaton, and was a son of William Gossom, who was born in Alexandria, Va., and was of Welsh descent. His father was a soldier in the Revolutionary war. Sandy A. married, July 11, 1833, Eliza J., daughter of Martin and Margaret (Gill) Mitchell. To this union were born Charles A., Edmond H., Martin R., William G., Thomas J., Belle (Hope), Sandy C. and Tandy M. Charles A. Gossom, Oakland Station, Ky., was born April 7, 1837, in Warren County, where he grew up, and where he has since resided, with the exception of the year 1860, which he spent in Mississippi. He married, January 16, 1862, Mary, daughter of Henry G. and Martha (McPhetus) Mitchell. To them have been born Henry M., Mattie B., Charles E. (deceased), Cadie E., Mary C. and Anna F. In starting in life for himself Mr. Gossom had some assistance, but chiefly by persevering industry he has become the owner of a fine farm of 300 acres of well improved land in a high state of cultivation. He has been for over twelve years a member of the Mizpah Baptist Church. He is an active farmer, and politically a Democrat. Tandy M. Gossom, Oakland Station, was born February 16, 1856, in Warren County, in the same house where he now resides. He was married, February 19, 1884, to Magnolia, daughter of George W. and Mary A. (Anderson) Rone. To them one daughter, Grace Mildred, has been born. Mr. Gossom is the owner of 294 acres of land, 140 of which is included in the tract on which he resides. He is not a member of any church organization. In politics he is a Democrat.
