J. J. THOMAS was born March 19, 1833, in Trigg County; he is a son of
Starkey Thomas, now deceased, whose sketch apprears elsewhere in this
volume.  February, 1857, he settled on his present farm, which was deeded
him by his father, consisting of 300 acres.  Mr. Thomas was married in
July, 1856, to Mary Cunningham; she was born in this county; this marriage
has been blessed with nine children--six sons and three daughters.
