ROGERS was born in this county on September 14, 1846, and is the next to the youngest of a family of six children born to Benjamin S. and Polly (Lancaster) Rogers. The father was a native of North Carolina. The mother was born in this county; her people were also from North Carolina. The father died in 1849, but the mother is still living with subject. The latter took charge of the home farm in 1865, which now contains about 400 acres, of which 250 are in cultivation.
