WILSON, farmer, was born in Boone County, Ky., February 21, 1836, a son of Thomas J. and Maria (Kindreck) Wilson. His father was born in a wagon as his parents were moving from Virginia to Kentucky. He was a son of James D. Wilson, a native of Virginia, who settled in Bourbon County, and was engaged in farming and stock raising all his life. Mrs. Maria Wilson was a third cousin of Gen. Washington, and was born in Bourbon County, Ky., daughter of B. Kindreck, and a granddaughter of Judge Warner, of Maryland, who was a very wealthy man, and had a large estate. B. Kindreck married Miss Warner against her father's wishes, and immediately came to Bourbon County, Ky. The Judge died, and the estate was lost because the family were not able to prove their genealogy. Thomas D. Wilson lived in Boone County until 1861, moving thence to Shelby, where he now resides, a prominent farmer, owning 212 acres. He has always been engaged in farming and stock raising, making a specialty of tobacco. In 1860 he married Miss Belle Miles of Shelby County, daughter of Abraham and Irene (Scroggins) Miles, and had three children: William W., born in Shelby County, January 20, 1863; was educated at the common schools, and spent one year at Georgetown (Ky.) College; is a young man of rare talents and experience. Samuel J. was born February 17, 1869, and so far has been educated at the common schools. Ada, the eldest child, is now the wife of N. E. Renaker. Mr. Wilson's brother, Q. T. Wilson, is quite a noted physician in Quincy, Ill. Our subject, his wife and all his children are members of the Baptist Church. He is a member of the I.O.O.F. Bagdad Lodge, No. 228, and has passed all the chairs. As a citizen Mr. Wilson is popular and public spirited.
