Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887, Shelby Co. ERASMUS FRAZIER was born in Shelby County in 1836. He is the fourth of a family of five children born to Elisha L. and Cerelia (Carpenter) Frazier. He was educated at Bethany College, West Virginia, and previously in the common schools. He graduated in 1861. He began the practice of law in 1863 at Shelbyville, and has been there ever since, and has a large and lucrative practice. He has been county attorney one term (four years) and county judge two terms (1870-1878). He is a Knight Templar, a member of the K. of H., and of the Christian Church. His father's people are Scotch, and his mother's English, and, respectively, came from Maryland and Virginia. He married, in 1867, Miss Kate Redding, daughter of Merit Redding, of Shelby County, and to their union have been born five children, three of whom are living, viz: Lula, May and Erasmus. Mr. Frazier is a gentleman of fine address, and highly cultivated, whom it affords one a pleasure to meet, and as a lawyer he is honest and capable.
