Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887, Oldham Co. THOMAS D. CASSADY is a son of W. T. and Isabel (Stonestreet) Cassady, and was born December 6, 1845. In January, 1865, he married Miss Sarah M. Speer, daughter of Marcus D. and Susan (Hinkle) Speer, natives respectively of Oldham and Shelby Counties. John Speer, her grandfather, was one of the pioneers of Oldham County, and settled on the edge of the now town of Floydsburg. Mr. Cassady was educated in his native county of Oldham, was reared to farming, and now owns and resides upon 105 acres, near Floydsburg. He is the father of nine children, viz.: Addie, Cora, Josie, Charley, Davie, Marian, John, Ochie and Guy. He is a Free Mason in good standing.
