Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887, Oldham Co. J. B. BOURNE was born near New Castle, Henry County, Ky., December 3, 1839. His father, Henry Bourne, was a Virginian who settled in Henry County, Ky. He was a farmer and trader in produce, and married Miss Julia Waters, also a native of Virginia, who came to Kentucky when but eight years of age. J. B. Bourne was agent in Henry County for the marble works of Tom De Joyce from 1870 to 1875, and then moved to Oldham County, where he resides on his farm of 150 acres in Floydsburg Precinct. November 25, 1874, he married Miss Rhoda, daughter of James and Frances Wihoytie. Mr. Bourne is a Free Mason, and a member of the Flat Rock Christian Church.
