BROTHER WILLIAM CAREY TAYLOR, SENIOR, one of the three preacher sons of
pastor Alfred Taylor, became a member of the Church by letter in March,
1864.  On March 9, 1865, the Church licensed him to preach.  His ordination
took place at the Church on July 30-31, 1869, with Baptist Ministers John
F. Austin, R. H. Miller and Judson Slade Taylor, his brother, serving as
the Presbytery for the Church.  A. P. Montague was ordained as a Deacon at
the same time.  Both of the Taylor brothers and Brother B. F. Jenkins
served as Pastors of the Church, as has been noted in the sketches of their
lives.
