By permission of author. Ohio County. RACHEL SHIELDS, another Charter Member of the Church, on July 16, 1836, was the wife of William Shields (1804-1885). She was born about 1798, and died on August 5, 1864, during the Civil War. She was the maternal grandmother of Baptist Minister Birch Shields, a later "Son in the Ministry" of the Green River Church.
