By permission of author. Ohio County JAMES MICHAEL DAUGHERTY became the Forty-Second Pastor to serve the Green River Church by being elected as such on July 22, 1979. He is a grandson of Brother Romie Daugherty and a son of G. W. Lee Daugherty, both of whom were Baptist Ministers. The Pulpit Committee, which had served by Church authority, since May 9, 1979, was composed of Brethren Mort Lawson, Mike Trumbo, Pee Wee Drake, Philip Daugherty and Glen Blacklock. He resigned on March 4, 1981, to become effective on the following April 1st, after having been in the Green River pastorate for twenty months. An Educational Annex wing was erected during his pastorate, raising the value of the Church Property from $158,000.00 to $200,000.00.
