KENNEDY, farmer, P. O. Headquarters; was born in Nicholas County, Ky., Dec. 26, 1821, to William and Nancy (Brooks) Kennedy; he was born Nicholas County, September 6, 1797; was a farmer and stone mason by occupation; and died Dec. 11, 1831. His wife, Nancy, was born in Nicholas County, Aug. 15, 1805, and is still living. Alfred, our subject, is the oldest of six children. He received a common school education, and commenced the battle of life as a farmer. He was married in Nicholas County, Dec. 23, 1841, to Miss Sally Ann Hillock, who was born in Nicholas County, Jan. 2, 1822. She is the mother of six children, viz: William J., Mary S., (deceased), Betty F., John F., Winfield S., and Harvey M. (deceased). Mrs. Kennedy was a daughter of James and Susie (Snapp) Hillock. Mr. Kennedy served the County as Constable six years. He is an energetic and enterprising farmer, and, socially, ranks high in the esteem of the community.
