[Nicholas County] [Ellisville Precinct] GILBERT FEEBACK, farmer, P. O. Oakland Mills. Among the old and prominent citizens of Ellisville precinct, none stand higher than Mr. Feeback. He was born in Nicholas County, Nov. 11, 1813. His father was of Virginia birth, following the occupation of a farmer all his life, and died in 1872; the maiden name of his mother was Elizabeth Earlywine who died in August 1862. They were the parents of nine children. Our subject was educated in Nicholas County and began life with farming, and married in Nicholas County Feb. 26, 1835, to Miss Elizabeth Dewitt, who was born May 26, 1812; she being the daughter of Jacob Dewitt, who was born in Pennsylvania, and Elizabeth Mann, who was born in Nicholas County. They have been the parents of nine children, five of whom are still living, viz: Mary, Malinda, Sarah, Margaret and Jonathan. He and his wife are both consistent members of the Baptist Church at Bald Hill and in politics he is a Republican. He is the owner of 170 acres of fertile land, seven miles from Carlisle on Cynthiana and Ellisville road.
