Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 3rd ed., 1886. Metcalfe County. ROBERT T. HAMILTON was born April 4, 1848, in Wayne County, Ky. When about one year old he was brought by his parents to Clinton County, and at eighteen years of age he came to Metcalfe County, where he has since resided, except about four years spent in the northern part of Monroe County. His father, Calvin Hamilton, was born about 1828, also in Wayne County, and was of English descent. He was married, about 1846, to Dinelia, daughter of Robert and Jane (Luster) Smith. To this union were born Robert T. and Bloomfield S., whose sketch follows this one. Robert T. married, September 10, 1870, Mary E., daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Meadows) Bacon, of Monroe County. To them have been born James B., Charley A., and Hezekiah. Mr. Hamilton has been for the greater part of his life engaged in the wool-carding business, and has a partnership in mill and also in cabinet shop.
