Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 3rd ed., 1886. Metcalfe County. BLOOMFIELD S. HAMILTON was born December 30, 1850, in Clinton County, where he grew up, and after four years' residence in Monroe County, removed to Illinois, where he staid [sic] for eighteen months, and from thence moved again to Kentucky. He lived in Barren and Monroe Counties until December 24, 1884, when he removed to Metcalfe County, where he now lives. He is a son of Calvin Hamilton, whose genealogy is given above. Mr. Hamilton's marriage took place September 21, 1874, with Mary J., daughter of Alfred D. and Edna D. (Baker) Hodges, of Metcalfe County. She was born December 30, 1854. To them have been born Ida B., Alonzo T., Welby F. and an infant, unnamed. Mr. Hamilton started even with the world in the race of life, but by industry, frugality and perseverance he has become the owner of a full partnership with his brother and Mr. Watson in one of the finest wool carding-mills in all this section. He is a Baptist in religion, and in politics is a stanch Democrat. Baker Hamilton Hodges Watson = Barren Clinton IL Monroe http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygenweb/kybiog/metcalfe/hamilton.bs.txt
