FREEMAN was born September 28, 1846, in Barren County, where he resided until the erection of Metcalfe as an independent county, since which time he has been a resident of the latter county. His father, George W. Freeman, Sr., was born about 1819, also in Barren County, on the same farm as his son. He was a son of John Freeman, who was born about 1754, and was a soldier in the Revolutionary war. George W. Freeman, Sr., married, in 1844, Mary E., daughter of Dudley and Catherine (Wright) Robinson, of Washington County, Ky. From this union sprang John W., George W., Jr., Thomas, Catherine (Lockett), Smith, Charles A., Belle and Clarence A. George W., Jr., married November 1, 1875, Margaret, daughter of Lemuel and Margaret (Woods) Lockett. She was born in Wayne County, Ky. To them have been born Henry B., Leona and Chester. Mr. Freeman has acquired a comfortable competency and is the owner of 270 acres of well improved and productive land. He is a moral man and a Christian gentleman, but is not at present connected with any church organization. In politics he is a stanch Democrat.
