BEAUCHAMP was born near Edmonton, Metcalfe Co., Ky., November 18, 1844, and is the second of four children born to John W. and Henrietta S. (Rogers) Beauchamp. Mrs. Henrietta Beauchamp was born in what is now Metcalfe County, Ky., January 20, 1820, and her death occurred June 2, 1875. She was a life-long and devoted member of the Cumberland Church. Neuell R. Beauchamp received a good common school education in youth; he was employed on his father's farm until he was twenty years old, when he embarked in general merchandising with his brother, E. R. Beauchamp, at Edmonton, and continued that business until March, 1870, when he sold out to his brother, and commenced to learn the jeweler's trade in Glasgow, serving an apprenticeship of two years. He then opened a silversmith shop at Edmonton, Metcalfe County, and has continued that business in connection with farming ever since. He is doing a good business at his trade, and is also a successful farmer. He is yet unmarried; is a devoted and consistent member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, in which he was for many years a ruling elder, and was also a teacher in the Sunday-school for some ten years. He is also an earnest advocate of the temperance cause, and was formerly a member of the I. O. G. T. In politics he is a Democrat, and is one of the enterprising and successful young business men of the county.
