Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 4th ed., 1887 Mercer Co. F.P. BURRUS was born and reared in Mercer County, and is a son of E. Burrus, also a native of Mercer County and born in 1785; his father was Nathaniel Burrus, born in Virginia and came to this State in 1784, where he lived until his death in 1855, at the advanced age of ninety-three years. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, for which services he drew a pension for many years prior to his death. F.P. Burrus was brought up on the farm, and has successfully followed the business. He owns a farm of 400 acres of fine land well improved. He married Miss Lizzie Miller of Adair County. They have two children: J.G. and M.L. Burrus.
