KENTUCKY: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin & Kniffin, 4th ed., 1887 Marion Co. GEORGE D. BOLDRICK was born October 25, 1842. His father, James P. Boldrick, was born and reared in Ireland, coming thence to the United States in his early manhood. He was by trade a merchant tailor, for the prosecution of which he located in Danville, Boyle County, where he married Miss Mary Doneghy, a native of Boyle County, but of Irish parentage. Both James P. Boldrick and wife are deceased. Their children are Mary (widow of Lee Mitchell), Lucy (Cundiff), Sarah (Cundiff) and George D. Boldrick. The last named was born and educated in Danville, and made that his home until removing to Lebanon, Marion County, where, in 1868, he established a drug store, which business he conducted profitably until 1880, when he sold to C.F. McAfee. He then engaged in distilling under the firm name of Boldrick & Callaghan, which still continues. Mr. Boldrick married, in 1868, Miss Carrie Spalding. She died in March, 1875, leaving three children: Samuel, Ralph and Charles Boldrick. His present wife, to whom he was married in 1878, was Miss Kate Tobin, Daughter of Lawrence Tobin, of Frankfort, Ky. They have three children, viz.: Mary, George and John Boldrick. Mr. Boldrick is a member of the Catholic Church and also of the C.K. of A.
