Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., 1887, Kenton Co. GEORGE A. ZWICK, a native of Wurtemburg, Germany, as born March 14, 1836, and is a son of George and Frederica (Bracher) Zwick. He was reared in Goettingen, Germany; immigrated to the United States in 1847, and first settled in Cleveland, Ohio, but subsequently moved to Cincinnati, attending the English schools in the latter place and in Hamilton. At the age of twenty-one he returned to Germany, and attended the university at Tubingon, and two years afterward graduated in pharmacy. He then returned to the United States, settling in Cincinnati, where he engaged in the drug business from 1851 to 1857, and again from 1859 to 1865. In the latter year he removed to Covington, Kenton Co., Ky., when he engaged in the same business, and now owns two stores, one on the corner of Eleventh and Madison Streets, and the other at 15 Madison Street, Cincinnati. In November, 1865, he married Miss Julia Taxis, a native of Germany, who bore him four children, viz: Albert, Carl, Amanda and Augusta.
