Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., Kenton Co. FRANK WULFTUNGE, a native of Hanover, Germany, was born August 26, 1830, and came to the United States in 1860, arriving at New Orleans, where he remained about six months, when he came to Kentucky, and settled in Covington. In the old country he was reared to farming, his father being a man of some wealth; he received a good collegiate education, but after graduation was a farmer for or five years, and then a stage or coach driver. On arriving in this country he worked a year or two at carpentering, and then, in 1867, engaged in distilling rye and bourbon whiskey, under the firm name of Dorsel & Wulftunge, but sold out in March 1887. In 1868 he married Elise Lusse, a native of Oldenburg, Germany. Four children born to this marriage are living.
