WILLIAM SABIN was born in Prussia, Europe, near Berlin, April 1, 1829, and is a son of Frederick and Mary (Mushik) Sabin. Frederick Sabin, a steamboat man, was born in 1795, and his wife was born December 18, 1810. William Sabin immigrated to Cincinnati, Ohio, August 1, 1850, where he followed barbering, and also engaged in the gents' furnishing goods business for eight years, in Covington. In 1867 he opened a regular dry goods store on Main Street, and in 1881 built a fine large house on the corner of Fourth and Main Streets, where he now resides, and carried on his business. April 22, 1858, he married Josephine Hauler, a native of Europe, and a daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Hauler. Three children have been born to them: Jennie, who married John Haley, of Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1884, who is a real estate agent there; William and Edward.
