ROTHENHOEFER was born in Wurtemburg, Germany, September 13, 1832, and is a son of Jacob and Christiana Rothenhoefer, natives of Germany, who still reside there. Jacob immigrated to this county in 1854, and settled in Wilmington, Ohio, where he went into the bakery and confectionery business. In 1855 he married Miss Mary Goetz, and moved to Cincinnati, where he went into the hotel business, then called the Bevis House, until 1871, when he and his family made a visit to his parents in Germany. Returning, later in the same year, he settled in Covington, Ky., where he started in the wine and liquor business at 31 Park Street, where he may still be found.
