MOSER, one of Covington's prominent business men, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, August 31, 1857, and is a son of F. C. and Mary M. (Brown) Moser. F. C. Moser was born in France, and came to the United States about 1852. He located at Cincinnati, and worked at his trade (machinist) for a number of years, and was also a feed and grain merchant. He died December 7, 1885. His wife, Mary M., was also born in France, and is a daughter of Louis Brown. L. A. Moser, at the age of five years, was taken by his parents to Covington, where he has since resided. He has three brothers and one sister living, viz: Fred J., Francis C., Gregory L. and Mary M. He received an ordinary education at the schools in Covington, and his first business was driving an express wagon. He acted in this capacity for about one year, and in 1874 opened a fish, fruit and commission store, and by close attention to business has built up a fine trade. The style of the firm is L. A. Moser & Co. They are packers and shippers of the "Liberty" brand of Baltimore and New York oysters; also dealers in fish, fruit and produce, Nos. 8 and 10 West Seventh Street, telephone No. 4108, Covington, Ky. Mr. Moser was married September 17, 1879, to Miss Mary E. Byrne, of Covington, daughter of James and Margaret Byrne. Four children have blessed this union: Louis B., Madaline M., Margaret and Fred J.
