Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., 1887, Kenton Co. HENRY MORWESSEL, the subject of this sketch, was born and reared in Covington, Ky. He visited the common schools of that city, and at the age of fourteen took a thorough course of business instruction at Morton's College, located at Covington. He found employment in a drug store, and after twelve years of faithful service with his first and only employer he opened a drug store on his own account at the southwest corner of Sixth and Russell Streets. He passed a successful and creditable examination, and graduated from the Cincinnati School of Pharmacy, which institution he had visited for the period of three years. A full and complete line of pure chemicals, drugs and pharmaceutical preparations is constantly kept in stock at his store, and, the personal attention of Mr. Morwessel being given to the purchase of all goods, only the products of the best manufactures are handled, the intention being to retain the cordial relations existing between himself and his customers. The displays of fancy and toilet articles and perfumery embrace everything charming and artistic. The compounding of prescriptions gives ample scope for the exercise of the thorough and searching knowledge of the profession which has given the proprietor such preference and favor with physicians.
