McGLASSON was born in Kenton County, Ky., March 24, 1836, and is the second of four children born to William and Alice (Barton) McGlasson. William McGlasson was born in Boone County, near Florence, June 11, 1813. He was a son of William McGlasson, a native of Virginia, who came to Kentucky and settled in Boone County about 1808, where he lived and died. William McGlasson, Jr., was also a farmer, and followed that occupation all his life. He lived and died in Kenton COunty. Alice Barton was born in Boone County May 1, 1811, was married in 1830, and had four children: Missouri, Benjamin F., Virginia and Laura. Benjamin F. McGlasson was brought up on the farm, and received a common-school education. He has followed farming from boyhood, and in 1857 he moved to Missouri and remained there until 1860, when he returned to his native county in Kentucky, and settled where he now resides in 1877. He have 150 acres of land. September 17, 1867, he married Anna E. Tupman, a daughter of Francis S. and Margaret (Davidson) Tupman, of Kenton County. For the past twenty years Mr. McGlasson has devoted the most of his time to the dairy business. He is a member of the Christian Church. Politically he is a Democrat.
