MARION GRUBBS, a native of Boone County, Ky., was born March 24, 1842, and is a son of Wickliffe and Catherine (Gatton) Grubbs, natives, respectively, of Virginia and Maryland. The parental grandfathers settled in Kentucky about 1830, and both were farmers. Wyckliffe Grubbs died in September, 1862, at the age of fifty-six years. Marion Grubbs was reared a farmer and followed farming in Boone County until 1872, when he removed to Covington, and in addition to his grocery business in Covington owns and cultivates a farm of 125 acres in Boone County. In 1862 he married Martha Glacken, of Boone County, and there have been born to them the following children: Ella, Walter and Ida.
