Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., Kenton Co. B. BECKER, was born in Germany, September 8, 1832, and is a son of Joseph and Elizabeth Becker, natives of Germany. B. Becker was educated in the common schools, and at the age of twenty-two engaged in the manufacturing of cigars in Covington. His sales are made principally in that city and amount to $15,000 or $20,000 a year. In 1882 he was elected city treasurer, and is now serving his third term. He has also engaged in the real estate business in Covington and Kenton County. In 1858 he married Julia Hanhauser, of Covington, and they now have seven children: Lizzie, Katie, Julia, Emma, Joseph, Robert and Elmer. Mr. Becker was president of the Orphans' Society, and is director in the City National Bank. He is a member of the Catholic Church.
