AMOS RICHARDSON was born November 16, 1848, and is the eldest son of John and Almina (Hurt) Richardson, both living. Amos was reared on a farm in Jessamine County, and was educated at the common schools; he was married in Kirksville, Madison County, October 21, 1875, to Miss Luketta B. Jones, of Estill County, daughter of A. D. and Elizabeth (Newman) Jones. Mr. Richardson and wife have had seven children born to them, four living, viz: Katie E., born March 20, 1878; Amy D., September 28, 1880; Bertha L., January 21, 1883, and Julius, December 6, 1885. Mr. Richardson is a member of the Baptist Church, his wife is a Methodist; he has 125 acres of land in Sulphur Well District, ten miles southeast of Nicholasville.
