Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 5th ed., 1887, Jessamine Co. JOSEPH M. KERR, editor and proprietor of the Jessamine Journal, Nicholasville, Ky., is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and was born April 29, 1864. Mr. Kerr has been managing the Journal since September 1, 1886, coming from the office of the Cincinnati Illustrated Graphics News, and is a practical printer. The paper of which he is proprietor was founded by Mr. Parrish, who was superseded by Samuel Owens, and he by A. G. Woods. It was then published by the Deering Bros., then by C. W. Metcalf, and now by the present proprietor. Mr. Kerr has increased the circulation 200 in the county, and has added a steam-power press at a large cost. The circulation of the paper is 800 in the county and 200 outside. He has a complete job office, suited for all kinds of work.
