HAYDON, the second son of Whitfield Haydon, was born November 10, 1848, and was educated in the common schools of the county. He was married, December 9, 1874, to Miss Pattie G. Gibbs, second daughter of H. B. and Martha (Burnside) Gibbs, of Garrard County, and to this union have been born five children: Alexander Gunn, Hillary Gibbs, Julian Whitfield, Clara Gatewood Haydon and Luther Mann Haydon (born March 5, 1887). Mr. Haydon purchased his present place of residence, on the Lexington and Harrodsburg Turnpike eight miles form Lexington, containing 200 acres, from Charles A.
