Kentucky: A History of the State, Perrin, Battle, Kniffin, 8th ed., 1888, Jefferson Co. HENRY C. MILLER, M.D., coroner of Jefferson County, was born September 9, 1842, and is a son of John and Mary S. (Seaton) Miller, natives of Jefferson County. He was educated in Louisville, and after completing his studies read medicine under Dr. John Hardin, and graduated from the old Kentucky School of Medicine in February, 1862; was resident graduate one year of the City Hospital. In 1764-65, [sic] he became assistant surgeon in the Forty-ninth Kentucky Infantry, remaining in that capacity about six months, when he was promoted to surgeon. When the war was over he began practice in Louisville. In 1878 he was elected coroner of Louisville and Jefferson County, which position he has since held by successive elections. In 1877 he was married to Miss Clara Means, a daughter of Presley Means, an old and well known citizen of Louisville. There has been born to him one child--Pearl S.
