He was born at Island, McLean County, Kentucky, on February 27, 1864, and was the son of James W. and Medora Nall Eaton. He attended the grade schools at hand and followed the occupation of farming all of his earthly life. He was converted at the Island Baptist Church in September, 1884, in a meeting conducted by Rev. B. F. Jenkins, and was baptized into the fellowship of that Church by the pastor, Rev. W. P. Bennett. In the year 1885 he moved near to Buck Creek Church and married Miss Patsy Atherton. Four children, two sons and two daughters, blessed this union. He placed his membership in the Buck Creek Church at about this time. His wife died on December 25, 1894. He married again in March 1897, this time to Miss Ludie Malin. After spending one year in Colorado he moved back to Kentucky. In 1905 the Richland Baptist Church was organized and he became a constituent member of this new Church. He was one of the first deacons of the Church and continued to serve in that capacity until his death on July 6, 1938. In the meantime he also served the Church as Clerk and as Trustee of the Church property. Ben C. Eaton was a stalwart Baptist during all of his Christian life and to him may be attributed to a large degree the strong doctrinal stand of the Richland Church during the majority of her history. His character was unimpeachable and he exercised a continual influence for good Eaton Nall Jenkins Bennett Atherton Malin = McLean CO http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygenweb/kybiog/hopkins/eaton.bc.txt
